Frequently Asked Questions

We get many questions sent into mycharity.ie and in order to provide instant answers to the most common questions we have prepared this FAQ. We hope your questions are answered below.

1. What organisations can register on mycharity.ie.

2. How to I register my charity on mycharity.ie.

3. Can I fundraise for more than one charity

Answers: Registered charities in Ireland and the UK can join mycharity.ie. At the absolute discretion of mycharity.ie organisations who upon investigation are deemed to be charitable in nature and can show a legal structure such as a Trust to our satisfaction will be allowed to register on the site. To register your charity contact us directly (http://www.mycharity.ie/info_about.php) or fill in the (http://www.mycharity.ie/charity_register.php) with your charities details and we will contact the charity for you. Only one charity can be associated with each fundraising page created, but a user can set up as many fundraising pages as they like.
4. What card types do we accept.

5. How much of the monies I raise / donate goes to the charity.

6. What happens to the monies raised online.

7. What happens to the monies raised offline.

8. I can't see my donation on the fundraising page I sponsored.

Answers: We accept Visa, MasterCard and Laser cards. 3% is deducted from each transaction that goes through the site, so the charity receives 97% of each transaction amount. All monies raised online are transferred directly to the charities bank account on a monthly basis. All offline monies must be sent in directly to the charity by the fundraiser.
If your transaction completed (the site said it did and you got an email receipt) and you can't see it on the fundraising page that you sponsored, then please check your receipt reference number. If it starts MYC-C then you donated directly to the charity rather than via the fundraising page. We are not able to make direct donations appear on fundraising pages. If you still have a query in this regard, please call us.
9. How do I edit my fundraising page.

10. How do I cancel / delete my fundraising.

11. How do I show / add the offline amount to my fundraising page.

Answers: Login to your account. Once logged in, on the screen that you can now see click on the "Fundraising Pages" tab. You can now see the details of your fundraising pages in a table. In the last column of the table labeled "Manage this page" click on the "Active" link against the fundraising page that you want to edit. In the screen that appears, you have options to edit your fundraising page and to cancel it. You can change your offline amount by editing the fundraising page.
12. Registration - the site says "your email address is already in use".

13. Login error - incorrect username and password.

14. Login error - account suspended.

Answers: If the site says "your email address is already in use" then you have previously registered on the site. Maybe you sponsored a friend or made a donation previously? To login enter your email address and password on the login page. If you have forgotten your password click "forgotten password" on the login page and the site will send you a new one to your email address. If the site says "incorrect username and password" then your username (email address) and password combination is not correct. Just click on "forgotten password" and the site will send you a new password to your email address, which you can then use to login. If you login incorrectly with an "incorrect username and password" 6 times the site will suspend your account. You will need to contact mycharity.ie and ask us to unsuspend your account.
