My Personal Message
Thank you for visiting the Irish Sailing Association’s Women on the Water Ireland (WOWI) fundraising page. We’re proud to have partnered with Action Breast Cancer as part of Irish Cancer Society for their ‘Get The Girls’ initiative and we would be incredibly appreciative of your support in helping us raise over €20,000 for this worthy cause.
An average of 2,000 women are diagnosed breast cancer every year in Ireland. For 2013 we want to get 2,013 women on the water through the ISA’s WOWI programme whilst raising €20,130 in aid of Action Breast Cancer. We want to encourage ever sailor, sailing school and club in Ireland to invite the girls to ‘Get on Board’ this year for a donation of €10 to this My Charity page. If we can do that over the next 12 months then we will not only have achieve our fundraising goal but we will in turn have introduced over 2,000 more women to a healthier, active lifestyle and a sport for life.
How can you get involved?
Sailors - Invite a female friend to join you on the water for a donation of €10.
Clubs - Organise ladies regatta day for a donation of €10 or run a taster session during an open day for a €10 donation.
Training Centres - Schedule ladies only courses with €10 being donated or run a taster session during an open day for a €10 donation.
Rally round and Get the Girls to Get on Board in 2013.
Please donate now using the "sponsor me now" button. You will automatically receive an email thanking you for your support and acknowledging your donation. Any donation, no matter how small, is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your support.

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity dedicated to preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer through patient care, research and education. The Society is financed entirely by voluntary contributions from the public and receives no government funding. We rely on thousands of dedicated volunteers from around the country to help with our fundraising activities. We are the largest voluntary funders of Cancer Research in Ireland, and we also provide support and nursing care for people at every step of their cancer journey. Help us continue to deliver our much needed services throughout Ireland. To see a full list of our upcoming events, please see click here (www.cancer.ie/events) and get involved! If you are setting up a fundraising page on MyCharity.ie, please register your event with us first so that we can provide you with fundraising materials and assist you with your fundraising.
