My Personal Message
This August I'll be walking a 500 mile route down the length of Ireland. The journey begins on Saturday 1 of August at Malin Head, the most northerly point on the island of Ireland, and end on Friday the 28th at it's most southern point Mizen head.
The target total is set to 500 to start which is obviously a little small seeing as I'm walking for 4 whole weeks so here's why. It's quite simple I have no target total, the aim is to raise as much as possible, whatever that may be. Once we hit 500 I'll raise the target to 1,000 and when hit that it'll got to 2,000 and so on. Any donation, however big or small will be welcome.
*Update 26 September - We've broken the 3,000 barrier and are looking good to hit 4,000 by the time we finish on October 26.
*Update - 30 July - We've broken the 2,000 barrier 2 days before the walk starts. That's a huge boost to the campaign before the walk gets going. The new target is 3,000.
*Update - 25 July - The 1,000 euro barrier was passed and then some tonight, we added 1,078.60 to the total. The next target is 2,000.
*Update - 24 July - We've hit the 500 mark before we hold the quiz tonight so we've now set out new target total to 1,000. Once we hit that we'll raise the bar again.
Now this page doesn't allow me to do it here but we're going to be quite clever with the closing date for donations. The date is already specified but the time is not. That's because we stop taking donations at some point on the 26th of October 2009. The reason for the date is simple. That's the day this year's Dublin City marathon takes place and to conclude the challenge, barely 8 weeks after finishing the walk, I will participate in the greatest race our capital has to offer and stop accepting donations when I break the tape at the finish line.
Any support you can provide, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
