My Personal Message Hi all,Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. The Children's Sunshine Home & LauraLynn House charity is a very worthy cause and we would very much appreciate your support in helping us to raise funds for this charity. Our event was a 141km walk & was completed in 15 relay stages, non stop, along the Co. Waterford coastline and the banks of the River Blackwater. It took 25.5 hours to complete. About my charity The Children’s Sunshine Home has been caring for chronically ill children since the 1920’s, providing respite, crisis, transitional and end-of-life care. We are delighted that Ireland's first children's Hospice - LauraLynn House officially opened in September 2011 by President McAleese. This allows us to extend our respite and end-of-life care to more children living with a life-limiting and life-threatning condition and their families. There are 42 hospices for children in the UK and none here until now. Unfortunately, we can’t change a child’s diagnosis but we do make the most of short and precious lives.
