My Personal Message
Hi Guys & Girls,
Imelda & Ossi are swimming the Straits of Gibraltar in July 2011.
Update 11th July 2011: It's done !!! First day of our window of opportunity - no long wait TG. It was tough but in the spirit of the words of encouragement from most of our previous sponsors we did enjoy it for the first half. Then it went a bit hairy with currents and conflicting instructions from the boat crew. We persevered against all adversity and are proud to have done so - albeit we were a bit slow.
We thought it might be an event that would inspire all of you to help us with fundraising for Cork ARC Cancer Support House. The Irish Escape from Alcatraz in 2006 was the first time Cork Open Water Swimmers helped to support Cork Arc. So we are revisiting old friends and hope you will share our enthusiasm for this worthy cause.
Details of our swim are on our blog http://www.swimming2morocco.blogspot.com, but then you probably found this fundraising page through the blog in the first place.
Fingers crossed the weather will support us on the day and we will be able to report a successful crossing.
Below are a few lines, which talk about the charity we have chosen to support. You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from us thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your support,
Imelda & Ossi
