My Personal Message Hi Everyone,Thanks for visiting our trek fund-raising page. we're taking part in a trek through the Simien mountains in Ethiopia later this year. The aim is to raise funds that, through the Self Help Africa charity, will be used to support projects improving the lives of the people in the Sodo region of Ethiopia. The projects are geared towards helping the people to help themselves, providing a more sustainable environment. At the moment there are nine of us undertaking the trek. It promises to be quite a challenging but (hopefully) rewarding experience as well. The cost of the trip is fully covered, so all donations received will go directly to the charity, Self Help Africa, for project work. This is one of a number of projects being undertaken by a local community group in the town of Skerries, County Dublin (Skerries / Sodo Group). About my charity Self Help Africa is an international development agency that works at grassroots level tackling poverty and improving lives in rural Africa. Self Help Africa's primary focus is assisting families and communities to grow enough food to feed themselves and to earn a sustainable living. Our all-African staff and local partners will this year help hundreds of thousands of people to work their way out of poverty.
