My Personal Message Hello all,Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. The CHILDAID charity is a very worthy cause and we would very much appreciate your support in helping to raise funds for this charity. As you know, I took part in the Kilimanjaro trek last year and I had the opportunity to visit some of the projects they support in Kenya and Tanzania. It was an amazing experience, what those guys do for the kids in Africa is priceless, it really is worth all the efforts to raise the money. Last May, Jérémie and I took part in the Carrantouhill climb, highest peak in Ireland, and we are also joining the Ben Nevis climb in October, all of this in support of CHILDAID and its amazing team of volunteers; Stan, Graham, Dermott... About my charity Childaid is a charity for CHILDREN. We fund and support projects on the ground in Africa that improve the living conditions and welfare of disadvantaged children, with particular emphasis on education. We believe that the long term solution to the African problem lyes in empowering future generations to make their own decisions, and work closely with children who reside in slum areas. To date we have given thousands of children access to education, and so helped raise their expectations of life. We raise funds by organising group treks to Kilimanjaro, Everest and other attractive destinations, ensuring that trekkers are given a first hand experience of the projects their funding assists. Our trips therefore have a unique mix of hands on experience, mountains, trekking, and that great Irish tradition "plenty of Craic" We run trips to Mount Kenya (Mar), Kilimanjaro (Aug), and Everest Base Camp (Oct/Nov) each year.
