My Personal Message
Hi,
Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. The Ubwino Wa Amayi charity is a cause close to my heart and I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for this charity.
You may have heard me speak about 'Mary's charity in Malawi' before - well, here are the details below if you'd like to read a few words about Ubwino. You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
There is also a facility on this website to organise a monthly standing order ...so if one of your New Year's resolutions was to do something good to help people out of poverty or you just want to make a huge difference to someone's life in Malawi, then this is your chance.
Many thanks in advance for your support,
Nicki |
About my charity
Ubwino Wa Amayi
Ubwino Wa Amayi means ‘for the good of the women’ in Chichewa - the local language of Southern Malawi. Only 28% of secondary school pupils in Malawi are girls. Each year hundreds of Malawian girls are unable to finish secondary school due to circumstances beyond their control. Ubwino Wa Amayi has established a scholarship programme to pay school fees and provide Starter Packs of books and educational materials. The most recent development has been the building and running of a Montessori school / crèche for the children of the school pupils and the local community. The overall aim is to support as many girls as possible to continue their education, and in doing so provide choices and opportunities which may otherwise be lost forever. More information can be found on the website www.ubwino.org
