My Personal Message Hey Guys,Dip in the Nip? I hear you say. Yep, a bunch of women are going to run into the sea NAKED somewhere in north west Ireland on June 25th. All to raise money for cancer charities and particularly to buy head cooling machines for people who are undergoing chemo. It helps lessen the risk of hair loss and can be a HUGE boost. I can't personally imagine losing all my hair so this resonates with me. Please read a few words about the charity that I have chosen to support below. About my charity The Dip in the Nip is an innovative and fun way to raise money for cancer projects. The first Dip in the Nip in 2009 was meant to be a one-off, and CEO and Founder Máire Garvey thought that perhaps 50 people would do it. Instead, 180 turned up, and raised €56,000! And since then it has gone from strength to strength! In 2012, there will be 6 Dips - a Valentines Dip in the Nip on Sunday February 26th in Galway in association with Hand in Hand, a childrens cancer charity based in Galway; 4 Midsummer Dips at different locations around the country on Sunday June 24th in association with a local cancer charity at each site, and a Mens Dip on Sunday 30th September in Wicklow in association with Blue September. This is the year when Dip in the Nip Foundation will (hopefully!) get charitable status! If you or somebody close to you has been touched by cancer, and you want to celebrate or remember, or even if you just want to tick something off your bucket list - this is the event for you!
