My Personal Message
Dear Friends
Well done for helping to make the marathon such a worthwhile event. Everyone at Trinity Takes to the Streets was delighted with our help. Funding for the Trinity Foundation programmes is getting ever tighter and efforts like ours do make a real difference. Thank you!
Thankfully I was spared serious injury and enjoyed the first 13 miles or so, bouyed up as I was by the company and conversation of Colm Kearney (a sub 3 hrs 25 marathoner, and possibly the first Professor of International Business to finish on the day). After the first half (done in an hour 43) things went less smoothly as my calves began to tighten and my knee joints began to grind, and by mile 21, it was very tempting to join those stretching, resting or hobbling by the side of the road -- but the thoughts of your support kept me moving along.
Once again, many thanks for your sponsorship
Luke
Luke McBratney finished in 3hours 50minutes 2863rd (14750 entrants), 460th in MV40 category. |
About my charity
Trinity Takes to the Streets
Trinity Takes to the Streets is a key part of Trinity’s commitment to building a community of support for students in need - providing critical support for students who are facing huge pressures in these adverse economic times. Education - especially for the disadvantaged and marginalized - is our society’s only long term hope. In these more challenging times, we need to come together and do more. Funds raised are distributed evenly to the Student Hardship fund, Trinity Access Programmes (TAP), National Institute of Intellectual Disability (NIID). You can also designate your sponsorship directly to any one of these three initiatives. Trinity Takes to the Streets is an initiative of Trinity Foundation, an independent charity (CHY10898), supporting the University's ambitious educational, research and outreach programmes.
