My Personal Message
Hi All,
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. The Stuart Mangan Trust is a very worthy cause and we really appreciate your support. Each contribution, no matter what the size, will help enormously.
As friends and colleagues of Stuart, we wanted to set ourselves a challenge which our family, friends and colleagues can support. This mirrors Stuart’s enthusiasm for sport, hard work and an appetite for success in life. This Londre-Paris challenge seemed quite appropriate as Stuart also spent much of his time studying in Paris and worked for BNP Paribas.
Londre - Paris 2009 Tour
On the 25, 26 and 27 June we will be participating in the London to Paris Cycle Tour. This event is a 'Tour de France' style endurance race involving 580km over 3 days of intense racing. We are all completely dedicated to the race and are training extensively to ensure we achieve our goal of successfully completing the Tour. Any donation would make it all the more important to us and Stuart
Day 1 - A 185km stage will see us ride out of London, tackling sharp ascents of Capel le Fern and Goudhust Hill, the latter being familiar to race fans as a King of the Mountains climb in the 2007 Tour de France . We will cycle to Dover for a ferry crossing to Calais. Only 411 km to go...
Day 2 - The 193Km stage swings north-east into France towards the famous cobbles of the Paris - Roubaix race, know as the cycling 'Hell of the North'. From there we will hit the rolling roads of the Collines L'artois to arrive at Amiens.
Day 3 - This is the longest stage at 202 KM. We will ride out of Amiens winding south of Paris hitting a number of tough climbs before rolling into the French capital to finish at the Eiffel Tower.
The beneficiary of our challenge will be the Stuart Mangan Appeal of which there are more details of this very worthy charity below. You can donate using the "Sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Remember, any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for your support,

About my charity
Stuart Mangan Trust
Stuart Mangan, the 26 year old from Fermoy in Co. Cork, who suffered a severe spinal injury while playing rugby in London in April 2008, has sadly passed away. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London on Thursday as a result of respiratory problems and passed away peacefully on Friday 7th August in the presence of his parents Brian and Una and his three brothers Keith, John and Barry. During his short life Stuart showed incredible energy, enthusiasm and love for people. Since his accident he has inspired many with his courage and greatly increased his circle of friends. In this way, he has left us all a great legacy. The family would like to thank all those who supported them during the last sixteen months especially his doctors, nurses and carers. The kindness and generosity shown by people has been simply amazing. In response to Stuart’s wishes, his organs have been donated for the benefit of others. In the near future, it will be decided by all those involved how best to honour Stuart’s memory. Funeral arrangements will be announced on the website shortly. May he rest in peace.
