My Personal Message I run a website on the Camino de Santiago and I come across loads of people who are doing the walk for charity. Not my thing, I just like the walk.However I do like the idea of raising money for charity – but really I am too busy to go and do any of these crazy things that I see and hear others doing. So this is what I propose: · I won’t swim the English Chanel · I won’t help destroy Kilimanjaro · Everest is safe from me · Drivers don’t have to worry about my cycling · I won’t run a marathon · I won’t have a sponsored silence · I won’t have a sponsored anything · I won’t walk long distances for your money – just for fun · I won’t stop eating or stay awake for 24 hrs I propose that I do nothing for charity and you just give some money – somewhere around €10, $10, or £10. Now is that not a better idea than having me risk a heart attack by training for some crazy marathon or some long distance bike ride – this way we all get to do something with no risk to anyone – especially me.
