Hi all,

If the idea of me puffing, panting, sweating and swearing a 13 mile (21.1km) path through Dublin in a pair of runners amuses you as much as it does me (someone who used to hide out in the drama room on cross country days!), this is what you need to do.

The Susie Long Hospice Fund is in honour of the late Susie Long, a Kilkenny woman who died from cancer campaigning for a a better health service for Ireland.
The SLHF is fundraising to make Susie's dream come true and build a 10-bed hospice in Kilkenny to make people's lives easier towards the end.

Susie Long Hospice Fund


The Susie Long Hospice Fund (SLHF) was set up in October 2007 to provide the highest possible quality of end-of-life care for patients and their families through the establishment of a 10-bed hospice close to Carlow/Kilkenny General Hospital. The Fund plans to meet this challenge through fundraising, increasing awareness of the need and benefits of local hospice care and by lobbying Government for support. You can support our work while having fun and keeping fit at the same time by taking part in any sponsored event on our behalf.
