My Personal Message
Hello,
Since July 2008 I have been traveling by bicycle from Ireland with the intention to circumnavigate the world. After cycling through western Europe and crossing by ferry to Morocco, I spent one year cycling down to South Africa. I flew from Cape Town to Buenos Aires (Argentina) in September 2009 and since then I have cycled through South, Central and North America. After almost three years of cycling I have covered over 45,000 kilometres in forty countries. I met Ellie in Bolivia and we have been cycling together for the past six months. You can follow the journey on my blog http://theslowwayhome.blogspot.com
In west Africa I decided to begin fundraising for the Peter McVerry Trust, an organisation that works in particular with young homeless people in Dublin and deals with associated problems such as drug misuse. My journey is entirely self-funded and all the money that is raised goes directly to the Peter McVerry Trust. You can read a few words about the Peter McVerry Trust below and the very important work that they do in supporting young homeless people in Dublin. Some of the much needed services that the Peter McVerry Trust provides includes: an drop-in centre, emergency accommodation, a stablisation program for drug users, transitional accommodation for homeless adults, and a residential drug treatment and housing program.
You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks for your support,
Julian Bloomer
