My Personal Message Hi guys,As most of you are aware, I enjoy going for the odd spin on the bike. This year I've decided I would like to go for a bit of a longer spin, a 1,000km spin. The route will be over a number of days and will go like this: Stage 1. Kilkenny to Rosslare Stage 2. Fishguard to Cardiff Stage 3. Cardiff to Bristol Stage 4. Bristol to Portsmouth followed by a rest day Stage 5. Cherbourg to Caen Stage 6. Caen to Alencon Stage 7. Alencon to Orlιans Stage 8. Orlιans to Mτret-sur-Loing via Montargis (to watch the stage 5 sprint finish of the Tour de France). I will be based for two nights in Mτret, where I will be cycling down to Montargis to watch the 6th stage of the Tour de France leave, followed by a final spin up to Paris. Due to the nature of the spin, I've decided that the Susie Long Hospice Fund would be the ideal charity for me to dedicate this to. It's a Kilkenny based fund, serving the local area. About my charity The Susie Long Hospice Fund (SLHF) was set up in October 2007 to provide the highest possible quality of end-of-life care for patients and their families through the establishment of a 10-bed hospice close to Carlow/Kilkenny General Hospital. The Fund plans to meet this challenge through fundraising, increasing awareness of the need and benefits of local hospice care and by lobbying Government for support.
