My Personal Message

Hey Guys,

Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. The Carrick 10k literally runs by my front door at home so its a good incentive to get out and join the crowd. Am doing the race to try and raise a few bob for the Irish Cancer Society, but am adding a little bit of a twist in the hope it might raise a few extra bob.

Heres the twist.

I ran this race last year in 50min. A few sneaky hills on the run but as the 50min might suggest I am no Haile Gebrselassie or Usain Bolt! This year I am going to set myself a target of 45min. For every minute or part of a minute that I run over the 45min I will personally donate another 10% of the total amount donated. So for example if I run it in 46min flat and I raise €200, thats a manageable €20 donataion by myself. However if I run in 50min again and I raise €1000 thats a rather significant €500 donation by myself. So the incentive is there for me to run as fast as possible and an incentive for ye to donate as much as possible so that I suffer financially. (I dont want to imagine the consequences if I get injured on the run!! And by chance if it turns out that my own donation runs over €500 then I might have to look into a forfiture and/or corporation sponsorship for the balance)

You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for your support,

Irish Cancer Society

The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity dedicated to preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and improving the quality of life of those living with cancer through patient care, research and education.

The Society is financed entirely by voluntary contributions from the public and receives no government funding.
