My Personal Message
Hi there,
Thank you for visiting my personal fund-raising page. I'm taking part in a trek through the Simien mountains in Ethiopia this October. The aim is to raise funds that, through the Self Help Africa charity, will be used to support projects improving the lives of the people in the Sodo region of Ethiopia. Eight of us are going on the trek and each of us is funding the cost of the trip ourselves, so all donations received will go directly to the Self Help Sodo project.
This is one of a number of projects being undertaken by a local community group in the town of Skerries, County Dublin (Skerries / Sodo Group). You can find out more about the trek and about the Skerries / Sodo Group on our website, www.skerriessodo.org.
You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your support, it is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards

About my charity
Self Help Africa
Self Help Africa is an international development agency that works at grassroots level tackling hunger and poverty in Africa. We focus our efforts on farming and food production. Why? - because 80% of Africans rely directly on small-scale farming for their survival, and because most land has the potential to grow much much more. We help rural households to grow more food, to diversify farming activities, and to access markets for their produce. We help communities to adapt to climate change, and help women - who do the bulk of the work on most small farms.
For over 25 years Self Help Africa has been working to with rural communities in Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Togo, Uganda and Zambia. We provide technical support, knowledge, and use a wide range of cost effective and innovative technologies to assist the people we work with to achieve a future that is free from hunger and poverty.
