My Personal Message
Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page!
In areas affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster many children are born with a fatal heart condition that has come to be known as 'Chernobyl Heart'. This can be rectified by a relatively straight forward surgical procedure but this intervention is, unfortunately, well beyond the resources available to the Belarusian health authorities. Thankfully, the efforts of the Chernobyl Childrens Project International (CCPI) have succeeded in reducing the cost of each life-saving operation to just 1,000 ($1,390 USD). This is a tiny amount of money to save a life, I'm sure you'll agree!
The Tour de Munster is a 640 km (400 mile) bike ride over four days that takes in all six counties of the province of Munster. It is not a charity itself, rather it is an annual event that nominates a different charity as the beneficiary each year. My personal target in riding the Tour de Munster this year is to raise 1,000 for CCPI and thereby save the life of somebody's little girl or boy. It really is as simple as that! Like all participants in the Tour de Munster, I have to pay for my own accommodation and food so you can be assured that every cent that you donate in sponsorship of my efforts goes to the charity!
You can sponsor me now using the "sponsor me now" button below. I really would appreciate any amount at all you can donate, no matter how small it seems.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

About my charity
Chernobyl Children International
The Chernobyl Children International was established 20 years ago to alleviate the suffering and to offer hope to the victims and survivors of the Chernobyl disaster, namely the children of Belarus, Western Russia and the Ukraine. Through our efforts the quality of life of thousands of young girls and boys from the heart of the Chernobyl zone has been improved immeasurably. To date, we have delivered over €90 million worth of aid to the Chernobyl regions, and have brought over 21,000 children to Ireland on recuperation holidays.
