My Personal Message
Hi Everybody,
After the success of last years trip to Kilkennys twin town of Moret sur Loing, this year I'm cycling back to my old stomping ground of Montreux in Switzerland. I'm not taking the easy way either as I'm going to attempt to go over the Col de l'Iseran, which at 2770 meters (9,088ft) is the highest mountain pass in Europe. Again, I will be visiting the Tour de France, I will take the route of stage seven from Le Mans to Châteauroux the day before the stage passes. I will watch the stage finish at Châteauroux, hopefully cheering one or more of Roche, Deignan, Martin and Brammeir. Either way, I will be wearing the black and amber of Marble City Cyclers the whole way over (watch this space for our stylish new kit). To motivate me, I'm again going to try and raise funds for the Susie Long Hospice, hopefully beating the €2,000 that was given last year, I think €2,770 is a good target (although €9,088 is a better target).
Thanks for the support last year and hopefully you can spread the word this year. As per last year, all donations goes to the charity and I'm not using any of it.

About my charity
Susie Long Hospice Fund
The Susie Long Hospice Fund (SLHF) was set up in October 2007 to provide the highest possible quality of end-of-life care for patients and their families through the establishment of a 10-bed hospice close to Carlow/Kilkenny General Hospital. The Fund plans to meet this challenge through fundraising, increasing awareness of the need and benefits of local hospice care and by lobbying Government for support. You can support our work while having fun and keeping fit at the same time by taking part in any sponsored event on our behalf. Once you have informed us of your chosen event, you can create your own personalised sponsorship page here on this site so that all your family and friends can sponsor you online – no matter where they live!
