The Breffni Challenge is organised by the Breffni Challenge committee, St Patrick's GAA and the community of Arva to raise funds for St Lukes Hospital Rathgar, the NBCRI (National Breast Cancer Research Institute) Galway and Cavan Cancer Homecare Association.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday 30st July 2011. There are two distances you can take part in, either 20k from Cavan to Arva or 13k from Ballinagh to Arva.
St. Luke’s is Ireland’s major radiotherapy centre and has played a special role in the development and delivery of cancer services to patients throughout Ireland for 50 years. In the past decade, it has been transformed into a technologically advanced centre of excellence in oncology care, research, education and prevention. Services are provided to more than 20,000 patients annually - the rising number of radiotherapy treatments reflects the demand on the service and the increased complexity of the treatment.
Over the past 10 years The Breffni Challenge has raised over €750,000 for St lukes Hospital and have improved many services including The Oakland Lodge, which provides accommodation for patients and their family. For more information please visit the Breffni Challenge website www.breffnichallenge.com
Many thanks in advance for your support,
