My Personal Message
Hey Guys,
Thanks for visiting my personal fundraising page. The idea behind the trip is to pit our wits against some of the worlds harshest terrains and climates, using only our own energy to travel half way around the world on a bicycle. We plan to leave our homes in Dublin on September 1st 2007 and arrive at the Olympic Games in Beijing in August 2008 (8th to the 24th). The trip will take us through mainland Europe, Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan and Tajikistan before we reach the half way point at the Chinese border. We have three hundred and forty four days to complete the trip, and at a total distance of approximately 17,500 kilometres we have to cycle on average 85 kilometres per day for 11 months.
There are two objectives of this trip. The first aim is to raise money for our two chosen charities, UCDVO and ARC. The second is to lend our support to our good friend David Gillick, as he prepares for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
The ARC Cancer Support Centre charity is a very worthy cause and I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for this charity.
Please read a few words about the charity that I have chosen to support below. You can donate using the "sponsor me now" button below via credit or debit card. You can be assured that your transaction on the mycharity.ie website is very secure. You will automatically receive an e-mail from me thanking you for your support, and acknowledging the amount of your donation. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your support,
