My Personal Message
Hi, How are you!?
We are organinsing a cycle trip in memory of Rob Simpson. Rob passed away 4 years ago in May.
On the 1st of April 2009 a "Cycle for Rob" will begin. This cycle will take us (Conor Simpson, Tim Crowe and Theo Smith) from Nantes, East France approx. 3500km across Europe to the Black Sea, all in 5 weeks. Money raised will go towards The Robbie Simpson Trust Fund. Please see details of Rob's charity below. The majority of the journey will take us along the Eurovelo 6 (a well known cycle route following the loire and the Danube, www.eurovelo6.org ). The Significance of starting the cycle in France is that Rob had always wanted to cycle through France as he was a keen cyclist and was studying the language during his time in UCD.
We hope to raise funds to continue in our progress of supplying Defibrillators to sports ground/Schools and colleges. We also hope to promote continued research into the area of Cardiomyopathy and Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).
Any donations will be greatly appreciated and if you leave your email address we hope to keep yas posted on our progress.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
Conor Simpson, Tim Crowe and Theo Smith.

About my charity
The Robbie Simpson Trust Fund
Robbie Simpson (July 10th 1985 - May 12th 2005) Robbie was the youngest of three brothers, Craig and Conor and a delightful son to Ann and Derek. Robbie suffered from a congenital heart condition, a form of Cardiomyopathy otherwise known as an enlarged heart. Despite the support of Robbie's family, and the innovative and expert care of the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, he passed away, aged nineteen, on the 12th of May 2005. Robbie, whose family resides in Dunlaoighaire, was an active, sports - loving young man who remained brave and optimistic in the face of grave illness. His family, in conjunction with the mater hospital, has been inspired to inaugarate a trust in his name. The Robert Simpson Trust will promote research into Cardiomyopathy and related areas such as sudden cardiac death and Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) as well as providing life saving equipment, such as defibrillators for sports campuses/centres and colleges. The Trust Fund In conjunction with the Mater Hospital, a Trust has been inaugurated in Rob's name. The Robert Simpson Trust will promote research into cardiomyopathy and related areas such as sudden cardiac death and sudden death syndrome (SADS) as well as providing life-saving equipment, such as defibrillators for sports campuses/centres and colleges. It will also help in organising awareness programs to alert young people and their parents to the signs and symptoms of possible cardiac problems. Donations to the Robbie Simpson Trust Fund can be made through Ulster Bank.
