History
A-Z Children's Charity was started by concerned Irish individuals who witnessed first hand the plight of the Ugandan orphan. The founder, Brian Iredale, first visited Uganda in 1997 during his 5000 km charity cycle through east and southern Africa.
There are presently 2 million children orphaned due to HIV/ AIDS in Uganda. A-Z Children's Charity is responsing to the needs of some of these children.
ACHIEMENTS:
1) Nearly 200 orphans now attending school
2) Over 30 children and adults gaining access to lifesaving medication
3) Over 600 children per week utilising our children's library.
4) Over 140 patients per month gaining access to medical treatment.
5) 4 primary schools being taught peer education on HIV related issues
6) 40 Irish volunteers working in Uganda in 2007
